Arvo Pärt’s Tabula Rasa, or ‘blank slate,’ was a sensation when released to the Western world in the mid-1980s. It remains one of the Estonian composer’s most compelling works. It will be a rare treat to hear this modern classic performed by two of Winnipeg’s top violinists,Gwen Hoebig and Karl Stobbe!Tuomas Ollila is one of the brightest of the present wave of younger Finnish conductors.
