An MCO world music event!
The evocative sounds of the Paris To Kyiv ensemble come to us from Ukraine, but resonate on the Canadian prairie. It will become a world music event when this fascinating trio melds with the MCO! The music choices roam far and wide, yet it’s all about Winnipeg. The concert will be conducted by Alain Trudel.
Alexis Kochan
Vocalist Alexis Kochan is interested in the oldest layers of Ukrainian folk music; she is the impetus behind the Paris To Kyiv ensemble. She is also the subject of the illustration above by Ron Sawchuk.
