The Buhler Concert: Brass virtuoso
Guy Few to open MCO season with a blast!

There are many reasons Canadian trumpeter Guy Few has been called “thrillingly fearless” and “outrageously gifted” — he takes chances on stage and his charisma charges the proceedings!

Guest conductor Anne Manson will lead Few and the MCO in two works: a Haydn concerto (the first of many works by Haydn this year) and Impressions de l’Alameda by Montreal-based bassoonist Mathieu Lussier.

Anne Manson & MCO — traveling companions!

When Anne Manson returns to Winnipeg for our opening concert, it will be just two short months since she led the MCO on our whirlwind summer tour to Ottawa and Toronto. Manson coaxes a little more from the MCO each time they work together and, much to our delight, she will be on the podium three times this season!

Pre-concert event

Arrive by 6:45 pm for a special presentation by students of Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra co-founder and virtuoso trumpeter Richard Gillis.

Subscriber box dinner!

An extra special pre-concert event, just for subscribers! Join us at 5 pm September 17th for a lovely box dinner and pre-concert presentation. Box dinner by Karen Peters. Cost $12 plus GST (see order form).
