Scott Yoo
and the MCO strings
This is an all-orchestral concert featuring two engaging contemporary North American works along with Mozart’s Divertimento in D major. Scott Yoo will conduct this concert of his own programming — it promises to surprise and enlighten.
The American composer Jeffery Cotton was composer-in-residence with the Boston-based Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra from 1999 through 2003 under the direction of Scott Yoo.
Reprise: composer Jeffrey Ryan’s Vesica Piscis
The ideas of balance, symmetry and common ground inspired Jeffrey Ryan’s musical imagination when writing Vesica Piscis, based on geometrical relationships. When the MCO premiered this piece in 2003, it was an instant hit with musicians and audience members!
