Hamelin favours classic repertoire
— for a
change!
Marc-André Hamelin is known for applying his monster technique to way-out works. In ‘08 he closed our season spectacularly with an absolutely incredible performance of Schnittke’s 1979 piano concerto.
Lately, Hamelin has turned his attentions to the established masterworks of the piano. Anne Manson will present the Canadian legend playing two of the greats: one in a minor key, the other major. Together with Mozart's 29th symphony, you’ll be hearing some of the best-loved music of all time.
